Author Frank Cottrell-Boyce

Frank Cottrell Boyce is a celebrated children's author and screenwriter. He has written such books as "Millions," "Framed," and most recently his novel "Cosmic." In 2004, Frank Cottrell Boyce was awarded the prestigious Carnegie Medal for outstanding achievement in children's literature for writing "Millions."

We are really excited to have Frank on board and can't wait to see what he has to bring to our school workshops and other events in the week!!.

Dave McClusky

Dave, believes all young children can be writers. His aim is to offer students the freedom to develop their very own ‘book’, the freedom to create their very own creations, that no-one can tell them is wrong. This gives students the freedom to allow their imaginations to soar, no limits. 

Dave is an inspirational figure, and his key message is to get creative and wait for no-one!

Ian Brown is a London-based writer and producer for television and former Fleet Street journalist. 

More recently, Ian has become celebrated as a children’s picture book author, both with the Albert the Tortoise series and the new Hugg ‘n’ Bugg series.

Children’s Author, Illustrator Vince spends his waking hours writing about animals that won’t be quiet, kids with huge hair and very smelly witches. He’s been a film director, cartoonist, BBC playwright and a screenwriter.

He has written award-winning screenplays and lots of children’s books.

Ali Harwood is an artist, poet, writer and teacher. He is the author and illustrator of Liverpool Liver Birds - a poetic picture book for curious folk of all ages. He is Artist in Residence at Kingsley & Co and the Liverpool City Region Artist/Creative of the Year 2023

Jude Lennon is an author of multiple books including the little Lamb series. She delivers workshops in schools and at festivals and has also collaborated with young authors with learning difficulties to co-write books about autism. Jude is a Patron of reading and delivers creative writing course with Team Author UK. Jude is another patron and friend of Kingsley & Co.

A veteran of the Liverpool hip hop scene, Liverpool rapper, writer and currently doing a phd research on theology and rap.

Jamie Broad released his first mix tape, The Caped Crusader, in 2010. He has been a regular and ever-popular face on the Liverpool hip hop scene ever since. Laid back and charming, he is instantly likeable, humble and an intelligent storyteller who possesses a typically scouse wit.

Altru are a creative, non-profit organisation and using drama as a tool to deliver messages, explore issues and develop skills.

Altru Drama will be visiting Kingsley & Co on Wednesday 1st November to offer fun and creative drama workshops exploring Fairytales, Myths and Legends.

Pupils will join us to play the characters, explore the settings, learn about the themes and bring it all to life through participatory drama activities where children can use their imaginations, work with others and develop their creative skills.

Natalie Denny is the award-winning force behind Skywriters Ltd, a creative education social enterprise. Her roles include writer, activist, tutor and EDI Consultant for Anthony Walker Foundation

Natalie was runner-up in Writing on the Wall’s ‘Pulp Idol’ 2019 competition and author of the children’s educational book ‘Her Hair: A Crown’, a resource developed in partnership with Manchester University, to diversify the curriculum in Manchester Schools.

Alan is a prolific children’s writer. He decided to become a full-time writer to help people with his writing skills by developing their skills. Enriching literature for children and assisting anyone needing professional writing makes him  happy.

He has won many prestigious awards and nominations is also a  contributor to the Arts Council/UK Literacy Association Writers in Schools initiative.

Artist Levi Tafari

Levi Tafari

Levi Tafari was born and raised in the city of Liverpool by his Jamaican parents. In the early 1980s, he started attending the Liverpool 8 Writers Workshop and decided to become a performance poet.

Levi runs creative writing workshops at schools, colleges, and universities. He has also appeared in many television programs including Blue Peter and Grange Hill.

Nick Jones is an award-winning children’s author. His debut book Sarah’s Shadow won Best Picture Book in 2017 on the popular international book review website readersfavorite.com, and he has written several picture books since. He also owns independent children’s book publishers Full Media Ltd, a fast-growing company that prides itself on producing high-quality picture books that promote kindness, acceptance and self-confidence in young readers. Nick is another patron and friend of Kingsley & Co.
