This year’s theme, "Here be Treasure," invites young poets to discover and celebrate different kinds of treasure through poetry. Let your imagination shine!
Let your imagination run free and write us a poem!
-
Hidden Treasure – pirates and their treasure
-
Treasure hunters and explorers
-
Treasure planet – caring for our environment
-
Treasure inside – personal wellbeing and value
-
The Treasure of stories – written, spoken and read word

Write or type your poem on a separate piece of paper, attach your entry form & return to your teacher or by post

Congratulations to all of our 2023 winners!
In April we launched our BCLF23 Short Story Competition. We received so many outstanding entries and our judges had the difficult task of choosing our winners.
Each winning story will now be published and a new book launched at Bootle Children's Literary Festival 2023 as we celebrate these talented young authors.
Thank you to Lesley Davies (Sefton Libraries), Shannah Woolsey (One Vision Housing) and our Artist in Residence, Ali Harwood for judging.
Overall winner in the Primary category Pippa Wright
Overall winner in the Secondary category Ruby Onslow
